Critical Vacuum

I have a weird way of working.

If my To Do list is HUGE! GIGANTIC! OVERWHELMING!  then 95% of it gets done within a week, and I collapse in a happy exhausted pile of accomplishment.

But then, ah, then that last 5% of so sits there.  And sits there. And sits there. It’ s just one or two things, right? And they’ve waited this long already, haven’t they? What’s a few more days? Another couple of chapters? Just this last Pinterest board?

It’s like the opposite of critical mass. My inertia becomes infinite in inverse proportion to my to do list, which is why I collect hobbies like old ladies collect cats.

I’m a lot better about taking time to relax and think and enjoy myself than I used to be. If only I could put “relax!” on my to do list and mean it.
