Fitness Log: Week of July 25, 2011

Despite some hiccups in scheduling (like massively oversleeping Sunday morning) it was a good week.  The Niles walk was much less exhausting than I thought it would be, given the distance.  I want to GPS verify the distance, and then work on figuring out a slightly longer route to match the Bay to Breakers’ full 12k.  One of those at least monthly and I’d be in good shape for next May.

Next week – annual check-up, working on scheduling with a nutritionist, and Yosemite for camping, kayaking and rock climbing!

Monday, 07/25

  • Gym at lunch (treadmill intervals, 28 min.; leg presses/heel lifts, 3 sets of 16, 160 lbs.; bench press/shoulder pulls, 3 sets of 16, 40 lbs.)
  • Afternoon walk (~3 miles, 60 min.)

Tuesday, 07/26

  • Morning wake-up yoga stretch (15 min.)
  • Gym at lunch (treadmill intervals, 36 min.; leg presses/heel lifts, 3 sets of 16, 160 lbs.; bench press/shoulder pulls, 3 sets of 16, 40 lbs.)
  • Afternoon walk (~3 miles, 60 min.)

Wednesday, 07/27

  • Morning wake-up yoga stretch (15 min.)
  • Gym at lunch (treadmill intervals, 36 min.; no weights)
  • Rock climbing (three attempts each of three different 5.6 routes. No completions, but some great technical practice. One V0 completion as well, 90 minutes.)
  • Evening walk (~3 miles, 60 min.)

Thursday, 07/28

  • Morning wake-up yoga stretch (15 min.)
  • Gym at lunch (treadmill intervals, 36 min.; eg presses/heel lifts, 3 sets of 16, 160 lbs.; bench press/shoulder pulls, 3 sets of 16, 40 lbs.)
  • Evening walk (~3 miles, 60 min.)

Friday, 07/29

  • Gym at lunch (treadmill intervals, 36 min.; leg presses/heel lifts, 3 sets of 16, 160 lbs.; bench press/shoulder pulls, 3 sets of 16, 40 lbs.)
  • Evening walk (~3 miles, 60 min.)

Saturday, 07/30 – Rest day.

  • WiiFit weigh-in.  WiiFit age 27 (-8), weight +2 lbs. from target.  ARGH, so close!!!

Sunday, 07/31

  • Niles walk (13,688 steps or ~6.5 miles)
