*tap tap* Is this thing on?

Hello there!  If you’re reading this, you’re either a hacker with far too much time on their hands and not enough skill to hack anything useful or interesting, or you’re a friend of mine who I’ve invited to my new digital slice of home.

Either way pull up a chair and I’ll get the kettle boiling.  What kind of tea do you like?

Where to start…

With the help of two guys and a truck tomorrow, I should finally finish my move.  Which doesn’t sound like much, until you realize I’m moving from … well, everything.  The apartment I’ve lived in for the last 10 years.  The relationship and marriage I’ve had for the last 15.  My cats, my two sweet girls Verjigorm and Dischordia.  Out of the lives of most of the friends.

Moving out.  Moving on.  Moving up.

Some people have fascinating and exciting stories about the end of their marriage.  Illicit affairs.  Boisterous fights with broken furniture.  Secret trips and bank accounts.  Mine is much less scintillating: I changed, he didn’t, neither of us could accept the other’s position.  Parts have been amiable, other parts haven’t, life moves on.

And that’s where Project Valkyrie comes in.  The name isn’t mine, credit where credit is due (waves across the Atlantic Ocean).  It’s my attempt to recover those parts of me that have faded over the years, and to push out into new ones.  I’ll be writing up the list of goals in Project Valkyrie soon, both to share them and to make myself put them in print, cement them in reality, and start WORKING on them more than just in my head.

Monday is March 21st, the Vernal Equinox.  The beginning of Spring, the hinge point between the Coldest Season and the fires of Beltane.  The time when the world shakes off her blanket of snow, yawns, stretches, and gets to work renewing life.

I can’t frakking WAIT.
